Professional wrestling is one of the biggest parts of anyone's growing up period. Many of us are enthralled as kids with these high flying, death defying and over-the-top acting men who have the ability to fire our imaginations. We love their brashness, their arrogance, and all the drama they create. In fact, a lot of us love it so much we never outgrow the love of these titans of the ring, even surviving the inevitable discovery that wrestling is fake.
This is a tribute to those brave men (and women) who risk life and limb doing the craziest moves in order to entertain us. Here are a few of those modern day heroes that surely put the E in entertainment:
Bret Hart: All those kids who grew up during the 90s were amazed by the brilliance and charisma of the one and only Bret 'The Hitman' Hart. Probably the most technically sound wrestler in histroy, Bret was trained by his father, Stu in what's called the Hart Family Dungeon. This would give him a wide array of moves that would help him to be World Wrestling Federation champion, especially the infamous lock 'The Sharpshooter'.
Shawn Michaels: Men and women alike cheer madly for 'The Heartbreak Kid' who is known for his death defying moves and his boyish good looks. Probably the best in ring performer the wrestling industry has ever seen, Shawn Michael's daring stunts would pave the way for future risk takers such as Jeff Hardy.
Mick Foley: Now semi-retired from wrestling, Mick Foley is known as one of the toughest men to step in the ring literally. From being whacked by barbed wire winded bats to being slammed through wooden tables, Mick Foley has absorbed so many kinds of abuse that it's a surprise he's still standing but no surprise that we all love him!
